How Often Do You Need an Eye Exam?

The frequency of your eye examinations largely depends on your age and any pre-existing conditions.

It is recommended that infants be examined at six months, and that children and adults be examined every one to two years. Contact lens wearers and adults age 60 or older should be examined annually.

Patients with pre-existing chronic health conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, etc., should also be examined every year.
